AbstractAbstract
Three clues to product design in 2025 are gradually converging: the application of the European Accessibility Act, the promotion of repairability in the ESPR work plan, and the strengthening of the whole life cycle information of digital product passports.
2025 Timeline and Evidence
The European Accessibility Act has been in force since June 28.
The ESPR work plan was released in April, covering the priority direction of 2025-2030.
Product transparency is increasingly dependent on long-term connectivity between digital records and physical products.

Trend analysis
These three clues together change the product briefing: who can be used, how to repair, where the material comes from, and how long the software support is no longer a after-sales issue, but a product architecture problem.
Design Response Design Response
Establish inclusiveness and maintenance objectives at the conceptual stage.
Use disassembly, task completion and information to understand the three types of test acceptance.
Integrate product data maintenance into long-term costs.

AURELIS observation
A more competitive product in 2026 will not be the most functional, but easier to use, repair, understand and responsibly exit the life cycle.
