The World Design Congress returned to London from September 9 to 10 with “Design for Planet” at its core.More than 1,000 participants in the fields of design, business, education and sustainability discussed how design would respond to the climate crisis.
2025 Timeline and Evidence
The conference was organized by the UK Design Council in collaboration with the World Design Organization.
This is the first time the conference has returned to London in about 50 years, with the Barbados Centre.
Topics cover carbon reduction, ecological restoration, industrial systems and design education.

Design for Planet requires a shift from design to more environmentally friendly singles to systems that affect procurement, business models, infrastructure and policies.Designers need to establish common metrics with finance, science and the community.
